About US
Wranglers and packers have been working in Yosemite for over a century; providing a service to the public through guided rides, pack trips, hauling supplies to the High Sierra Camps and trail crews, and providing the horse and mule power to maintain the backcountry trails, bridges, and facilities.
They have many common bonds, including a love of horses and mules, working horseback, the High Sierra's, friendship, and good times around a campfire.
On April 22, 1951 the wranglers of Yosemite decided to hold a picnic gathering at the Fulmer Ranch in Raymond, CA. It was a get-together for all the Curry Company and National Park Service wranglers. After eight years of picnics the Yosemite Wranglers organization was created in 1959. The organization has continued to hold the Wranglers Reunion, the annual gathering of past and present guides and packers of Yosemite National Park.
Today the Yosemite Wranglers is an informal organization with three officers, the President, the Vice President and the Secretary-Treasurer. The officers are elected ever three years by a majority vote of the members attending the annual reunion.
No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.
